Her name means ‘moon mountain’, after one of the Himalayan range peaks. 
Legend has it, Rama meditated here after defeating king Ravana. Another story says that moon God Chandra spent an eon here in penance. 
In this shop though, she’s a gorgeously unique 4.70 carat Ceylon sapphire, extremely chunky in the old cutting style, and with colour zoning and internal inclusions which add very interesting glacial movement. 
However, those very same inclusions which I ADORE, also make this sapphire affordable!!
