PENDING - RED TAG ~LOVER~ 1866 antique flower ring

It is hard to imagine, that One Hundred and Fifty Eight years ago, someone sat down on their bench by candlelight and created this beautiful, garnet and green paste 18k gold ring…and then someone purchased it, to gift to a person deeply dear to them…
Of course that’s a bit fanciful, surely a lady could have had the ring commissioned for herself! 
However, during this time, this specific type of flower ring in this vivid combination of colours, was a very popular symbol of love…
Mourning and forget me not jewellery of the time, more often than not displayed black enamel, pearls and even turquoise…but this blooming display of bounty, was mostly reserved for expressions of adoration 
She is in 18k gold, about a size  6-6.5, fully hallmarked with a complete set of five hallmarks denoting gold weight, year of manufacture, place of manufacture, assay and makers marks. She’s a very rich, buttery gold! 
In terms of age related flaws; one of the garnets does seem to have an internal fracture running through it, it also seems to have lost facets but is worn shiny…there are a few bumps and grazes on the band. But all of this is expected with the age. 
All stones seem very secure with all prongs intact. This ring has obviously been kept well over the years.
