~MANASA~ Burma & African ruby serpent ring
Earth mined Burma rubies (plain heat), with an African ruby Center (plain heat) …
total ruby weight is about five carats (central ruby 2.20 carats) and with a raw gold weight of over 7 grams in 14k…
oh and 0.6 carats of little diamonds in the serpent eyes.
About a size 6-6.75, because you can twist the ring over your knuckle to fit, as the snake loops that are wound on the inside, make the ring size smaller on the mandrel than it potentially could be worn on a finger made of flexible skin!
MANASA is the Bengal Serpent goddess of prosperity, she is a daughter of the primary god Shiva, and like her father, had a bit of a temper streak.
Legend has it, she wanted Chand to worship her, as he worshipped her father. But Chand was a bit of a chauvinist and claimed he didn’t recognise MANASA as a deity at all.
Miffed, she destroyed seven of his ships at sea. Killing all seven of his sons in the process. Talk about a woman scorned!!
She is a rather ‘human’ goddess; parent troubles with her father and stepmother; ever working to better understand herself and her own identity. She is kind, giving and gracious to her followers, especially women. But will not take disrespect.
Pictured often as a beautiful, serpent adorned young lady, her fiery personality suits this twin serpent ring perfectly!
